Training updates: As we move forward into a period with fewer restrictions because of Covid, we have decided, following some consultation, to continue the online learning session via Zoom until Christmas. We shall reassess the situation later in the year.There is increasing pressure from Gilwell to ensure that all leaders and managers, who require a Wood Badge for their role, complete it within three years of their appointment. The feedback that we have received from many leaders tells us that participating in one of the Zoom sessions and completing the online validation is really easy. Booking for all these sessions is via the South Yorkshire Scouts’ website which will take then take you to the Eventbrite booking page. In addition, all leaders and managers who require a Wood Badge for their role are expected to be compliant in first aid. Details of how to access the training can be found here. Further details for validating First Aid Practical (module 10b) and of a limited number of face to face First Response sessions will be available soon.
